How to Download a Video From a TikTok Link

If you already have a TikTok video link, you don’t need to search for the creator or scroll through their profile again. The link takes you directly to the post you want.

You can copy that URL into SnapTik and download the supported TikTok video from your browser. The same basic process works whether you’re using Android, iPhone, Windows, or Mac.

How to Download a TikTok Video From a Link

The quickest method takes only a few steps.

1. Copy the TikTok video link

Open TikTok and find the video you want to save.

On the TikTok app:

  1. Open the video.
  2. Tap Share.
  3. Tap Copy link.

If you’re using TikTok in a desktop browser, open the video and copy its URL from the address bar.

Make sure you’re copying the video link, not just the creator’s profile link.

2. Open SnapTik

Open SnapTik in your browser and find the download box.

You don’t need to install anything when using the web version. This is useful when you only need to download a video occasionally.

If you regularly download TikTok videos on your phone, you can also use the SnapTik app version instead.

3. Paste the link

Paste the TikTok URL into the input box.

You can usually paste it directly from your clipboard on a phone, so there’s no need to type the URL manually.

Then start the download process.

4. Select the available download

SnapTik will process the link and show the available download option when the video can be processed.

Choose the version you want and save it to your device.

If a no-watermark version is available, you can select that option.

Downloading on Android

Android makes the process particularly straightforward.

After copying the TikTok link, open Chrome or another browser and go to SnapTik. Paste the URL, process it, and download the video.

Depending on your phone and browser, the file will normally appear in your Downloads folder.

If you can’t find it immediately, open your phone’s Files or file manager app and check the Downloads folder.

For frequent downloads, the SnapTik app can be more convenient than opening the website every time.

Downloading on iPhone

The process is similar on iPhone.

Copy the TikTok video link from the TikTok app, then open SnapTik in Safari and paste the URL.

After downloading, the file may be available through Safari’s download manager or the Files app, depending on your iPhone settings and the download method being used.

If you want the video inside your Photos library, you may need to move or save the downloaded file to Photos after downloading it.

Downloading on a Computer

You can also download TikTok videos from a Windows PC or Mac.

Open TikTok in your browser, find the video, and copy the URL from the address bar.

Then:

  1. Open SnapTik.
  2. Paste the TikTok link.
  3. Start processing.
  4. Choose the available download.
  5. Save the file to your computer.

The downloaded video will normally be stored in your browser’s default Downloads folder unless you’ve changed that location.

What If the TikTok Link Doesn’t Work?

A copied link doesn’t guarantee that the video will always be available for download.

First, open the original URL in TikTok or your browser. If the video itself no longer loads, the post may have been deleted, made private, or restricted.

If the video still works, try copying the link again.

It’s also worth checking whether you accidentally copied a profile URL instead of the actual video URL.

For example, a link leading to:

TikTok.com/@username

identifies the creator’s profile.

A link containing the specific video post identifies the individual TikTok you want to download.

When possible, use the individual video link.

Why Use a TikTok Link Instead of a Username?

A username is useful when you’ve forgotten the video link and need to find the creator first.

But if you already have the TikTok URL, using it directly is faster.

You don’t need to:

  • Search for the creator
  • Open their profile
  • Scroll through old posts
  • Find the same video again

Just copy the link and send it to SnapTik.

If you only have the username, you can first find the creator on TikTok and then copy the link of the specific video. This is also useful when you want to download several videos from the same account.

What About Video Quality?

The quality of the downloaded file depends on the source and the versions available for that particular TikTok post.

Choosing a larger resolution doesn’t create detail that wasn’t present in the original video. If a TikTok was uploaded in lower quality, downloading it at a higher resolution won’t turn it into genuine HD footage.

For everyday offline viewing, choose the highest useful quality that is actually available.

A Simple Way to Save a TikTok Link

Once you understand the process, there isn’t much to it:

Copy the TikTok link → open SnapTik → paste the URL → process the video → download the available file.

The direct-link method is usually the easiest option when you already know which TikTok you want. You can use SnapTik from a browser without installing an app, or use the SnapTik app if you prefer a dedicated mobile experience.

If you’re downloading content created by someone else, remember that saving a video and having permission to reuse it are two different things. For reposting, commercial use, or editing another person’s content, check the creator’s rights and obtain permission when necessary.
